Václav Havel Airport in Prague Ruzyně in 2018 handled 16,797,006 passengers. This is a year-on-year increase of nine percent. The airport announced it on Tuesday. The busiest of last year were the lines to Great Britain. Most were flying to London again.
A total of 155,530 take-offs and landings took place at Ruzyně Airport, which represents a 5% year-on-year increase.
Last year, over two million passengers flew to the United Kingdom, up 13 percent year-on-year. London alone travelled at 1.36 million, or nearly nine percent more than a year earlier.
The biggest increase in Prague passengers, by 117.7 thousand (35 percent), was recorded by Barcelona.
New Flights to Kutais or Amman
“Three new airlines have begun their flights from Prague, and they have begun to enter seven new locations. We have greatly improved the connection to long-distance destinations,” said Roman Pacvoň, spokesperson.
The busiest month of the year was July, with 1,877,369 checked-in passengers. On average, approximately 46,000 passengers traveled daily to Prague Airport. A total of 69 carriers flew from/to Prague.
New destinations like New Philadelphia, Kutaisi in Georgia or Jordanian Amman have recently emerged.
