This technology, previously available only at major international hubs like London or Amsterdam, is now enhancing convenience right here in Prague.

These new scanners produce detailed 3D images, enabling security staff to inspect baggage thoroughly without opening it. As a result, travelers can leave laptops, tablets, phones, and liquids securely packed away. Faster and Safer Checks

The implementation of these state-of-the-art machines also greatly reduces waiting times. Passengers can now move through security up to twice as fast, cutting down queues dramatically, especially during peak travel periods. The CT technology also boosts security by offering clearer, rotatable images, helping staff quickly identify prohibited items.

Gradual Improvements and New Rules for Liquids

Initially installed in Terminal 2 for Schengen flights, the airport plans to expand the use of CT scanners throughout the rest of its facilities by year-end. Travelers will soon enjoy even more convenience as Europe prepares to relax liquid restrictions. Later this year, the allowable liquid volume is expected to increase from 100 ml up to 500 ml, with future adjustments possibly allowing up to two liters.
