Road undergoing reconstruction by Terminal 1. What traffic restrictions shall be expected?"Terminal 1 Road Renovations: What You Need to Know About Upcoming Traffic Restrictions!"

May your home be filled with the delightful smells of freshly baked cookies and brewed coffee, and may all your dreams come true. These are the lyrics from a special Christmas carol created by Prague Airport for this year’s festive season. This new holiday song, featuring the unique sounds of airport activity, will be featured in various radio promotions. Passengers at Prague Airport can already soak up the Christmas spirit adorned with well-recognized illustrations by Josef Lada, and they can look forward to a range of holiday activities, including charity markets and live music performances.

“Christmas carols are truly a vital part of the holiday season. Our song is special because it incorporates the real sounds of airport life and activity. It reflects the unique vibe of the airport, where the bustling atmosphere of travel, the joy of reunions, and the sadness of farewells intertwine to create an unexpectedly beautiful and festive melody: our airport’s own Christmas song,” explains Eva Krejčí, Prague Airport’s Director of Communications and Marketing. Titled “Departures and Dreams,” this Christmas carol will be aired on radio stations along with a chance to win exciting prizes. Anyone interested can listen to the song on Spotify, and a direct link to the music video can be obtained by scanning the QR code displayed on screens at the airport, as well as in select malls and busy metro stations. The visual will feature a Christmas decoration featuring the iconic Prague Airport air traffic control tower.

“As an international airport that connects our country to the world, we are excited to showcase rich Czech culture. The Christmas trees in our airport terminals are embellished with traditional Czech craftsmanship, featuring handmade glass ornaments created by local glassmakers. We have also chosen traditional Josef Lada Christmas designs for our terminal decorations. Additionally, we’ve set up a special room where visitors can take photos with winter-themed props inspired by Lada’s illustrations,” adds Eva Krejčí. The Lada-themed room will be open continuously in the connecting area between Terminals 1 and 2 until January 10, 2026.

Representing the variety of Czech Christmas traditions—from snowy scenes in Prague to live nativity displays in the countryside and scouts bringing the Nativity Light—a photographic exhibition will be displayed until the end of January at the gallery located on the ground floor of Terminal 2. This exhibition has been organized by Prague Airport in collaboration with the Czech Photo organization. St. Nicholas Day is also a cherished event at Václav Havel Airport Prague: on December 4, special airport tours for children will happen, followed by St. Nicholas, accompanied by his traditional helpers, distributing small gifts and sweets to passengers the next day.

On December 11, the airport will foster a spirit of giving through charity markets in the connecting area between Terminals 1 and 2. That same day, a concert will take place in Terminal 2 to raise funds for the Pink Bubble foundation, which supports young people battling cancer. Passengers flying from Terminal 2 and who enjoy being creative can join a workshop on December 15 to paint their own glass Christmas ornament using supplies provided. They’ll be able to take their creations home as souvenirs. Three days later, on December 18, the Lucky Voice Band will brighten the festive atmosphere with their performances, taking place at different locations throughout Terminals 1 and 2 all day long. The Christmas celebrations at the airport will reach their peak on Christmas Eve, when passengers will receive gingerbread cookies from the Blue House workshop, along with a card explaining Czech Christmas customs.
