Prague Airport has achieved the impressive feat of winning the renowned Routes World Award for the second consecutive year in the category for airports managing between 10 to 20 million passengers annually. This year’s competition included notable airports like those in Edinburgh, Calgary, Indianapolis, and San Antonio. The award, determined by a vote from airline representatives, highlights the airport’s success in enhancing air connections, providing marketing support, and maintaining strong partnerships with various airlines.

“Winning this esteemed award for the second time in a row signifies an outstanding achievement for us and serves as a strong indicator that our efforts have a lasting and internationally recognized influence. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to my colleagues for their dedicated work and to our airline partners for their trust and support. Successfully maintaining our position in such competitive circumstances reaffirms that our strategies for developing air connections and collaborating with airlines are effective,” said Jiří Vyskoč, the Executive Director for Aviation Business Development at Prague Airport.

Having successfully defended its title from last year, Prague Airport has now won the Routes World Award four times in total in its history. The expert panel of airline representatives praised the airport’s marketing initiatives in 2025 aimed at both business partners and the general public. The assessment also evaluated how well the airport addresses the needs of its partners in day-to-day operations, harnesses data analysis for improving air connections, and works on strengthening overall business relationships.

“This achievement is a direct result of the daily commitment from our entire team, along with the long-lasting, exceptional relationships we’ve built with our airline partners. This year, we successfully expanded our range of destinations, attracted more airlines, and increased the number of flights on key routes. For us, this award not only confirms we are on the right track but also energizes us to continue our work with even more passion and vision,” Jiří Vyskoč further commented.

In collaboration with airlines, Prague Airport introduced connections to 18 new destinations in 2025, including six new long-haul routes to Toronto, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Beirut, Marrakech, and a charter route to the Maldives. Additionally, there was an increase in flight capacity on 88 routes this year, meaning more frequent flights or larger aircraft being used.

The awards ceremony occurred during the Routes World 2025 international forum, held in Hong Kong from September 24 to 26 this year. The conference gathers essential players in air transport development, including airports, airlines, tourism organizations, and other key entities in the industry.
