Prague Airport is dedicated to helping its local community. This year, it will provide tens of millions of crowns through various grant programs, including Biodiversity, Ventilation, and Good Neighbour grants, to support both ecological initiatives and community projects.
In early January, Prague Airport announced the start of the fourth round of the Biodiversity grant programme. Applications will be accepted from January 5 to March 31, 2026. This programme aims to enhance species diversity, maintain ecological balance, and improve natural water retention in the urban areas around the airport. It’s part of Prague Airport’s ongoing commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. Since the programme began, it has already funded over forty projects focused on restoring landscapes, protecting endangered species, and promoting environmental awareness. This year, the airport has set aside three million crowns for this initiative.
“Prague Airport intends to keep the Biodiversity grant programme running until at least 2050. It plays a crucial role in our ESG strategy, reflecting our enduring commitment to sustainability,” stated Soňa Hykyšová, the Director of Environment, Sustainability, and ESG at Prague Airport.
Funding is available for projects aimed at revitalizing landscapes, restoring green spaces, supporting natural habitats, and providing environmental education for children and the community. The programme is open to a variety of applicants, including municipalities, city districts, schools, universities, non-profit groups, and research organizations. Each project can receive up to 300 thousand crowns. More detailed information can be found on the Prague Airport website.
Another important initiative, the Ventilation grant programme, has also been announced. This programme offers financial support for property owners in specific areas to purchase ventilation systems. The acceptance of applications will close once 80 submissions are received, which aligns with the allocated budget for the initiative. The objective is to implement additional measures to reduce noise from aircraft in designated indoor areas of buildings. Complete details are available on the Prague Airport website.
Furthermore, in May, Prague Airport will introduce the next round of the Good Neighbour grant programme, aimed at enhancing community life near the airport.
