Starting with the winter season of 2026/2027, you can now fly directly from Prague Airport to Bolzano, Italy. Bolzano is known as the gateway to the stunning Dolomites and is a popular spot for skiers from the Czech Republic. This seasonal route will be available twice a week, operated by the Italian airline SkyAlps, beginning on December 9.

“The new flight connection to Bolzano adds to the variety of regular winter flights from Prague. The Dolomites are one of the top choices among foreign destinations for Czech skiers, so we are optimistic that this new route will draw in passengers. Moreover, it broadens the travel choices between the Czech Republic and northern Italy,” states Jaroslav Filip, the Director of Aviation Business at Prague Airport.

The seasonal flights will be available from December 9, 2026, until March 28, 2027, with departures twice a week—on Wednesdays and Sundays. SkyAlps will operate this route using a Dash 8-Q400 turboprop aircraft that can seat 78 passengers. Additionally, the flight into Bolzano provides breathtaking views of the glorious Dolomite mountains. Compared to driving, passengers can save over four hours one way, reaching South Tyrol in roughly half the time.

This new seasonal route was created through a newly formed collaboration between SkyAlps and the travel agency VELLARIA Premium Travel, in partnership with Prague Airport. Travelers can buy tickets individually or through the travel agency in a package that includes lodging and other services. “From the outset, we viewed the Prague–Bolzano direct flight initiative as a chance to introduce something unique to the Czech market. Bolzano is recognized as the entry point to the Dolomites, a significant mountain range located in the Italian Alps. From the local airport, visitors can easily reach well-equipped ski resorts like Val Gardena, which is quite popular among skiers. The South Tyrol region is also famous for its fine wines, and traditional dishes such as Tyrolean dumplings and apple strudel are definitely worth a try. For those eager to explore, a local museum features Ötzi, a mummy that is over 5,000 years old and is considered one of the best-preserved prehistoric finds in the world.
