Air Arabia, a low-cost airline, has returned to Václav Havel Airport Prague after nearly six years. Today, they officially started their regular flights between Prague and Sharjah, which will be available every day of the week. This addition enhances Prague Airport’s connections to the Middle East.

“We are excited to strengthen our link to the Middle East by welcoming another airline, making it our eighth. Air Arabia is back, bringing the Sharjah route to our airport after almost six years. We believe that resuming this connection will provide passengers with more flight choices not only to the Middle East but also to various connecting destinations like East Africa, India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Thailand, and Kuala Lumpur,” said Jiří Pos, the Chairman of the Prague Airport Board of Directors.

Flights between Prague and Sharjah will operate daily. The airline offers evening flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, departing from Prague at 9:35 p.m. On the other days—Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays—flights will leave as early as 12:40 p.m. Air Arabia will use an Airbus A320neo aircraft, which has a capacity of 174 passengers for these flights. The airline last flew this route from December 2018 to March 2020, operating five flights a week.

“We are thrilled to introduce our daily direct flights to Prague, an important destination in Europe that reflects the increasing demand for affordable and dependable air travel from the United Arab Emirates. This new route highlights our commitment to gradually expanding our European network from Sharjah, promoting tourism, trade, and cultural exchange,” said Adel Al Ali, CEO of the Air Arabia Group.

Sharjah is the third-largest city in the United Arab Emirates and serves as the capital of the emirate sharing its name. Known for its rich cultural history, Sharjah is often referred to as “the cultural pearl of the United Arab Emirates.” Notable attractions include the Al Noor Mosque and the Al Hisn Fort, which was once the seat of the ruling Al Qasimi dynasty. The historical center of the city allows visitors to step back in time and gain insight into life in ancient Sharjah. Additionally, the city boasts a variety of museums, including the Calligraphy Museum and the Museum of Islamic Civilizations. The Central Market, featuring over 600 small shops, offers an exciting experience of haggling typical of Arab markets.
