Starting on October 23, 2025, passengers will have the exciting chance to fly straight from Václav Havel Airport in Prague to Cork, the second largest city in Ireland. Aer Lingus is launching this new route, making travel between these two locations easier.
“The last time there was a direct flight to Cork from our airport was back in 2008. So, we are very happy that after seventeen years, Cork will be included in our list of destinations again as part of the winter flight schedule. We are also thrilled to strengthen our partnership with Aer Lingus, which has been regularly connecting Prague and Dublin for the past 23 years. This new route provides another chance for Czech travelers to explore Ireland and boosts tourism between the Czech Republic and Ireland,” stated Jiří Vyskoč, the Aviation Business Development Executive Director at Prague Airport.
The new route from Prague to Cork will operate twice a week, specifically on Thursdays and Sundays, starting from October 23. Aer Lingus will use an Airbus A320 aircraft on this route, which has a seating capacity of 174. This marks the second regular route that Aer Lingus operates out of Prague Airport. Currently, in the summer flight schedule, Aer Lingus connects Prague to Dublin every day. During the winter schedule, the Prague to Dublin flights will be available six days a week.
“As Ireland’s national airline, we are excited to reconnect Cork with Prague for the winter season. This route offers Cork travelers a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the timeless beauty of Prague. It also presents Czech travelers a convenient way to reach Cork and experience everything that Ireland has to offer during the winter,” added Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus Customer Service Director.
Cork, which lies between two channels of the River Lee, is known as Ireland’s second-largest city. It boasts a rich history and a distinct atmosphere influenced by its local Georgian architecture. Don’t miss a chance to visit the Cork City Gaol, a former prison that now serves as a museum detailing the conditions of 19th-century inmates. Cork also played a vital role in the global butter trade, with the local Butter Museum showcasing this important history. The Crawford Art Gallery is another highlight, featuring a wide-ranging collection of European fine art from the 18th century to today. Visitors shouldn’t overlook the two prominent cathedrals: the Catholic St. Mary’s Cathedral and the Anglican Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral. For shopping and trying delicious food, the English Market is highly recommended.
