Starting from October 25 of this year, easyJet will begin regular flights connecting Prague with Marrakesh. This new route will be available twice a week from Prague Airport—specifically on Wednesdays and Sundays.
“Working with easyJet has brought great results for Prague Airport over time, and we are truly happy with its ongoing development. Last year, easyJet was the fastest-growing airline at our airport, and it is now expanding its services to include its very first destination outside Europe from Prague. The new Marrakesh route is a significant move in broadening our network and will help enhance tourism from our region to North Africa. We anticipate that travelers will respond positively to this new connection during its initial year of service,” states Jaroslav Filip, Aviation Business Director at Prague Airport.
This new route will be operational twice a week, specifically on Wednesdays and Sundays, with the inaugural flight set for October 25 of this year. “The new link between Prague and Marrakesh will provide our customers with a fresh destination for short vacations, where they can immerse themselves in local culture or discover the stunning Moroccan scenery beyond the city limits.” This also complements our network of 22 cities in Europe that we service from Prague, which includes a mix of city, recreational, and beach locations,” adds Thomas Haagensen, Group Markets Director at easyJet.
Marrakesh’s core, known as the Old Town (Medina), is one of Morocco’s most vibrant areas and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This historical zone features a sprawling maze of narrow streets, bustling markets, and beautiful mosques. At its entrance is the Jemaa el-Fnaa square, lively with stalls offering traditional foods, crafts, and textiles. The energetic atmosphere is heightened by local performers, including pipers who encourage the mesmerizing dance of cobras. In contrast to this lively center, visitors can find tranquility in the large botanical gardens established by the French painter Jacques Majorelle, which now carry his name. These gardens were later restored by fashion icon Yves Saint Laurent, and today they are among the most popular attractions in the city. Rising majestically behind Marrakesh is the High Atlas Mountain range, attracting many hiking enthusiasts.
easyJet has started ticket sales for flights to Marrakesh on its website.
