Great news for Czech travelers! Starting May 1, 2025, German airline Condor will offer two daily flights connecting Prague’s Václav Havel Airport directly to Frankfurt, one of Europe’s largest transportation hubs.
This expanded service significantly benefits travelers from Prague by providing more competitive pricing compared to Lufthansa, which also operates on this route. Industry insiders have noted that increased competition between airlines is already making flights considerably more affordable.
The flights will be operated using modern Airbus aircraft, with a morning flight serviced by an Airbus A321neo and an evening flight operated with an Airbus A320ceo. Condor’s basic “Economy Light” fare, which includes small hand luggage, starts at CZK 5,320 (€210) for a return ticket.
Connecting Prague to Global Destinations
Condor’s new service isn’t just about Frankfurt; it’s also a strategic gateway to an extensive network of global destinations. Through seamless connections at Frankfurt Airport, passengers can easily travel to dream destinations such as the Maldives, Seychelles, Caribbean islands, South Africa, Thailand, the United States, and Canada. Newly introduced is Panama City (PTY), opening further travel options throughout Latin America via Condor’s partnership with Copa Airlines.
Jaroslav Filip, Director of Air Commerce at Prague Airport, expressed enthusiasm about Condor joining Prague Airport, highlighting the strong passenger interest in connecting flights. “We expect more than 100,000 passengers to use Condor’s services during this summer season alone,” Filip noted.
Expansion Driven by Increased Demand
Condor’s expansion into Prague is part of a broader growth strategy targeting urban destinations. The airline is introducing additional routes throughout Europe from Frankfurt, including cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Vienna, Zurich, Milan, and Rome. The airline aims to meet the rising demand for combined business and leisure travel.
The placement of aircraft at Prague Airport indicates potential for further expansion. Condor has strategically chosen Prague partly due to rising costs at German airports, hinting that travelers could soon benefit from additional new routes.
Impact on Travel Costs and Tourism
With Condor’s entry into the Prague-Frankfurt route, airfare prices have noticeably decreased, offering Czechs affordable opportunities to travel globally. Ticket portals recently listed significantly lower prices for popular long-haul destinations like Boston, New York, Panama, Johannesburg, and Anchorage.
Additionally, this new route provides an appealing option for German tourists, positioning Prague as an accessible and attractive destination in the heart of Europe.
With two convenient daily flights, Condor’s new service promises not only better connectivity but also substantial savings, enhancing the travel experience for passengers flying between Prague and Frankfurt and beyond.
