As Prague is quickly becoming the top tourist destination
in the EU, now serving tens of millions tourists each year, Prague’s
airport and inbound flights are increasing all the time. This was also one
of reasons why new terminal 2 was opened this year allowing to server
additional 4 millions passengers every year.
Recommend check in time for all UK flights
is 2 hrs
before flight schedule departure and 3 hrs for long distance haul flights.
What to do at the airport
when travelling with small children
If you are travelling with a pram, the baby may stay in it until the very last moment before departure. A golf trolley-type pram can be taken on board. Pushchairs or deep prams must be folded during inspection and pass through the X-ray, and can be subsequently used until boarding.
If children get bored while waiting for the plane, there are two play areas in the transit area of Prague Airport. In Terminal 1 you can find the play area on the left behind the security check. The second one is situated in Terminal 2 on the left from the passport check.
The play area in the toy shop “Bambule” in the connecting departure hall between Terminal 1 and 2 is permanently available as well. There children will find a broad selection of toys (mostly with an aviation theme) and many games and construction kits, as well as climbing frames, swings and much more.
Older children may amuse themselves in the Airport Museum where they can look around the large format photo gallery documenting significant stages of the development of the airport, as well as watch documentary movies about history of the airport. The museum is situated in the public area of the departure hall at Terminal 2 before the entrance to the scenic terrace.
The terrace offers a fascinating view of the planes waiting for departure or reaching the departure bridges after their arrival. You can also enjoy coffee and cake here. The terrace is located in the public part of the departure hall of Terminal 2 before the entrance to the connecting area of Terminal 1, or from the public part of Terminal 1, where it can be entered from Restaurace Praha.

In winter months sometimes snowfall
causes one or more runways to be closed and flights delayed.
If departing from UK it's good idea not flying on the first flights of the day
as these most likely to be cancelled whilst Prague sorts itself out from
overnight snowfall. Average affected days during winter months: 4-5days.

Wifi
In the business lounge upstairs in Terminal 1 there are four PCs with free wired Internet access. Plenty of power points around the lounge for laptops. Paid Wi-Fi hot spot available for 150 CZK for 1 hour (about 6 euros). Wi-Fi signal reception in the lounge is good.
