70 YEARS OF PRAGUE AIRPORT

EU security regualtions.
Whether you're flying away on a holiday or on a business trip, please pay attention to our basic security rules. Following these will ensure that your check-in at the airport goes smoothly and with no complications.

To safeguard air transport it is essential that passengers checking in go through security procedures aimed at preventing any forbidden and potentially dangerous objects from being taken on board the plane. Therefore, before starting to pock your baggage, find out which things should not be stored in your hand luggage.

Dangerous objects include not only explosives, weapons and knives, but also materials which could be a potential hazard. There are therefore tight restrictions on the amount of liquids and gels you can go through passport control with in the hand luggage that you take on board the plane with you.

If you are traveling to the United States ofAmerica, please be aware that as part of their security, checks the American authorities have applied additional screening procedures on these flights which in certain aspects differ from standard, security checks. Detailed information on the rules relating to the transport of liquids, forbidden items and security checks on flights to the United States of America is available from the information stands at Prague Airport, from security staff.

In winter months sometimes snowfall
causes one or more runways to be closed and flights delayed. If departing from UK it's good idea not flying on the first flights of the day as these most likely to be cancelled whilst Prague sorts itself out from overnight snowfall. Average affected days during winter months: 4-5days.
Wifi
There are four PCs with free wired internet access in the business lounge upstairs in Terminal 1. Plenty of 'powerpoints' around the lounge for laptops. T Mobile wi-fi available at 178.50 Czech Crowns for one hour - equivalent to just over 6 Euros. Wi-fi signal reception in the lounge is good.
In 2007 at Ruzyne should open a multipurpose Europort complex
which will house a hotel, shops and parking. Short-term accommodation will be available in 235 rooms. The complex will also have conference facilities for 250 people, 500 parking spaces and 3200 m2 of retail space.
RYANAIR NEWS
RyanAir will connect Prague Airport with 5 other EU destinations from the beginning of this October. As market analytics says "low cost prices from the UK and Ireland will drop even more.”
