Prague Airport Information:
You will find information desks provided at both Arrivals and Departures halls in the North Terminal.
As Prague is quickly becoming the top tourist destination
in the EU, now serving tens of millions tourists each year, Prague’s
airport and inbound flights are increasing all the time. This was also one
of reasons why new terminal 2 was opened this year allowing to server
additional 4 millions passengers every year.
Recommend check in time for all UK flights is 2 hrs
before flight schedule departure and 3 hrs for long distance haul flights.

Avoid eating at the Prague airport |
Tip: Although McDonald’s is charging CZK25 (1 EUR) more for a regular menu they are still one of the cheapest at the airport.
|

Not even introducing the fast food chains has brought the food prices down at the Prague airport. Again, some of the restaurants are even more expensive than last summer. Now, you will be charged CZK115 / (4.8 EUR) for 0,2 litre of water and CZK120 (5 EUR) for a coffee. Travellers’ interest in such prices is not too high: There was no one at all in the café at the time of our visit during the midday peak at the airport.
Thus the Prague airport confirms to be one of the most expensive food and beverage-wise in Europe.
The high prices discourage the people to fly to Prague. Therefore, some of them prefer to fly with a German travel agent from Germany where they also get cheaper parking. The airport prices diametrically differ from Czech wages and are very often more expensive than elsewhere in Europe.
The Prague airport web-pages for example recommend “sending the family for a tour of the airport terminals where they can visit the Prague Airport hall of fame” before the driver parks their car at the most distant terminal and comes to the departure hall.
The high prices cause the travel agents as well as airlines difficulties. For example, in case of a delay according to the law they give out refreshment vouchers in the value of CZK200. That is not even enough for a water and sandwich.
Cheaper food will arrive. The airport has started a tender for the available space.
Cheaper fast food options gradually increase at the airport. McDonald’s and KFC opened their branches here not so long ago. Although McDonald’s is charging CZK25 more for a regular menu they are still one of the cheapest at the airport.

In winter months sometimes snowfall
causes one or more runways to be closed and flights delayed.
If departing from UK it's good idea not flying on the first flights of the day
as these most likely to be cancelled whilst Prague sorts itself out from
overnight snowfall. Average affected days during winter months: 4-5days.
Wifi
In the business lounge upstairs in Terminal 1 there are four PCs with free wired internet access. Plenty of 'powerpoints' around the lounge for laptops. T Mobile wi-fi available at 178.50 Czech Crowns for one hour - equivalent to just over 6 Euros. Wi-fi signal reception in the lounge is good. |
